Montenegro: Is there “Space” in the final for them this year?

Montenegro have a less than impressive track record, only qualifying for the grand final once, in 2015, with Knez’ “Adio”.  Coming in 13th for the year however was quite the triumph!

This year, they have again internally selected their artist.  Slavko Kalezić, the native singer-songwriter, has said that this is “A dream come true” to represent the country at the 2107 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.  And it could well be.

Slavko studied at the Academy of Performing Arts at Cetinje, Montenegro later on becoming part of Ensemble of the Montenegrin State Theater. He appeared on various stages and appeared in films.

In 2011, he released the single "Muza". Slavko became more prominent in 2013 while competing in series 1 of X Factor Adria, the Serbian pan-regional version of The X Factor. During the Podgorica, Montenegro auditions, he sang Beyoncé's "End of Time" successfully passing to bootcamp for the "Over 27" category.

While being mentored by Željko Joksimović, singing "Get Lucky" and "Cosmic Girl”, Slavko was promoted to the Judges' house stage where he performed "Ljuljaj me nezno" to mentor Joksimović assisted by Toni Cetinski, but failed to make it to the live shows and the Final 14.

Since the show he has released the album San o vječnostia in 2014. Notable singles included "Krivac", "Feel the Music" and "Freedom".

Will his ESC song, Space, launch them into the final for the second time?  Let’s see!
