Hungary - Ronny Addamo

A DAL 2017 HEAT 3 THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!

Following the postponement of heat 2 last week after the bus collision in Verona, the powers that be have decided to continue on with heat 3 this week, leaving the postponed show until next Saturday night. To keep to their schedule, we will now have both semi final shows over one power packed weekend on February 10th and 11th. This all means that we will have our winner, as previously planned on February 18th

So, we have a fresh batch of another ten songs to deliberate over. As with last edition, I will use my witty one liners (errr yeah)  to describe what I am hearing.  Here goes.

1.Frozen King- MRS. COLUMBO

So this is what a twisted Hungarian English nursey rhyme sounds like! I actually think this is pretty cute.

2. Jártam- ANNAELZA feat. JULI KÁSA

A soft pop folk ballad. It’s…..nice. I’m guessing it will be forgotten by song 4.

3. Dust In The Wind- CHASE

What is in the wind in Hungary this year (see what I did there!) There seems to be an awful lot of upset fellas over there. Good, but would struggle against the other 7 of the same song in the other heats.

4. 17- KÁLLAY SAUNDERS BAND

So Mr running running running has graced us with his presence again this year, this time he’s gone full Americana, so dull it could make beige exciting! Yes, the man can sing, but this material is lacklustre, 17 indeed.

5. Fall Like Rain- GINA KANIZSA

If you’re a fan of Sarah Mclaughlan…. Personally I find her boring most of the time… this adds naff lyrics to the formula….next….

6. On My Own - ZOLTÁN MUJAHID

Another emotional man here, this time, in the more vocal pop variety. Can’t lie though, even though we’ve heard this song in many guises over the Eurovision history, this one isn’t too bad.

7. Kill Your Monster- PEET PROJECT

This is quite refreshing after the last few formulaic songs. A bit of pop funk is always fun!

8. It’s A Riot- PETER KOVARY & THE ROYAL REBELS

Oh wow, this is Brit Pop, 00’s style, done quite well. The type of song that sneaks by without the attention of the hardcore Eurofans. I like it.

9. Together- ÁDÁM SZABÓ

So, if Adam Lambert was Hungarian, and had a cause, it would sound something like this. It has a nice message, but, just not sure it has enough pizazz.

10. I’ve Got A Fire- ANDI TÓTH

This sounds identical to something…… oh that’s right, everything on commercial radio. She’s good, but would want to have extra stage charisma to make this memorable. Lucky she’s performing last…. In this heat.
