club activities for 2024
The opportunity to earn points for the 2024 ticket list will run from 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2023.
On our Facebook page and website, points opportunities will include variations ofthe hashtag: #ESC2024Points. This will help identify and search for activities. Please note that by participating in a points opportunity you are agreeing to do so within the parameters set out below. All points opportunities are open to all members of the club unless explicitly stated otherwise.
Below, we have the list of the planned opportunities, based on feedback from members. Activities will only be live for the month they are scheduled for.
We understand not everyone is interested in earning points for a ticket list, but do not let that stop you from playing along!
ongoing monthly* activity
Eurovision Retrospective - ongoing
Every month, with the exclusion of April, May and September (or as advised), a random draw will choose a past Eurovision Song Contest. We will post the link to the video of the contest for members to watch, and then cast their votes on their favourites. We will maintain the current 12, 10, 8-1 voting system, despite different versions utilised throughout the years.
Every month in our newsletter, we will inform of the year that was randomly drawn, as well as the results of the previous month. We will run this from the start of the month for approximately 3 weeks, to allow for vote tallying and reporting of results.
We will continue to host online “Watch Parties”, if members are interested in accessing these ongoing. Currently, these are hosted on the following day/time (unless otherwise stated):
Sunday - 7pm AEDST/AEST - Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time/Australian Eastern Standard Time
Sunday - 3pm EDT/EST - Eastern Daylight Time/Eastern Standard Time (USA)
***Subject to change, please check the newsletter for the time and day each month.
We are reviewing this, and will advise of any changes made based on member feedback. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to meet everyone’s wishes, but we will do everything we can.
EACH ACTIVITY WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE 26TH OF THE MONTH TO CAST VOTES.
Casting your vote will earn you 5 points. (For each Retrospective you vote in, unless otherwise stated).
*Please note: Retrospectives will not run during April, May, July and September 2023.
* 1964 Eurovision is not available for viewing any longer due to a fire destroying the original film - however there have been reconstructions done over the yeaars - which will be used in the case of drawing this year.

november 2022:
Misheard Lyrics
We know them all. Lyrics… when we read them we think 'oh, that is what they are saying'. Or the ones where you are sure it says one thing until someone finally tells you that you are actually wrong. Some of those misheard lyrics are hilarious and so this is what we want.
Create a video of your favorite misheard lyrics of a eurovision song. It can be any Eurovision related song. That includes the national selections.
This opportunity will close at midday CET November 26th.
20 points will be available for this activity.
National Final Reviews - Nominations Open
A nomination form will be available for members to nominate three preferences to write a review of the national final selection process. Whether that is a multi-faceted selection process like Melodifestivalen or an internal selection. Once we have closed the nominations, we will allocate the selections to members individually.
Nominations will open with the newsletter and close at Midday CET November 26th.
20 points only available per member for reviews received no more than 2 weeks from the date of the selection.
A blog will be set up to post each review on our website.
